Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026 · Version 1.0

This English version is provided for convenience only. The German version is the legally binding version.

This policy explains which cookies and comparable technologies (local storage) Picdeo (www.picdeo.de) uses — and which it deliberately does not.

1. The essentials first

Picdeo uses strictly necessary cookies and local storage entries only. There is no tracking, no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics cookies. That is why we do not show a consent banner: no consent is required for strictly necessary technologies.

Should this change in the future (e.g. through an analytics tool or embedded videos), we will update this policy and obtain consent in advance where required.

2. What are cookies and local storage?

Cookies are small text files that the browser stores and sends back to the website on subsequent visits — for example, so that you stay logged in. Local storage is a browser storage whose entries are not automatically sent to the server; it is suitable for local interface preferences.

3. Which cookies we use

CookieSet byPurposeDuration
sb-*Picdeo/SupabaseLogin session: authentication and session refreshSession or until logout

These cookies are strictly necessary for the logged-in area — without them, the account, studio and app areas do not work. They contain no tracking identifiers for advertising purposes.

4. Which local storage entries we use

We use local storage for interface convenience, e.g.: selected view settings, the status of hints already seen, and cached, unsent form input. These entries remain in your browser, are not transmitted to us, and can be deleted at any time via your browser settings.

5. What we do not use

  • no third-party analytics/statistics cookies (no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel),
  • no advertising or retargeting cookies,
  • no fingerprinting,
  • no social media plugins with automatic data transfers (fonts are hosted locally; any YouTube videos load only after an active click — see our Privacy Policy).

6. Legal bases

Storing and reading strictly necessary cookies/entries is based on Section 25(2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG; the associated processing of personal data is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (provision of the service) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (secure, functional operation).

7. Managing and deleting cookies

You can view, block or delete cookies and local storage at any time via your browser settings. Please note: without the necessary cookies listed above, logging in to Picdeo is technically not possible.

8. Changes

If we introduce new technologies, we will update this policy in advance. Controller and contact: see Privacy Policy, section 1.
